The Evolution of Men's Wearable Sex Tech

A 2003 follow-up study noted sexual function decreasing sharply by decade after 50.

The numbers are alarming. A 2003 Health Professionals Follow-Up Study noted that many aspects of sexual function decreased sharply by decade after 50 years of age. Men are experiencing an epidemic of ED, fading erections, performance anxiety, premature ejaculation (PE), and involuntary celibacy.

What’s going on? Is it related to diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or medications, including those for blood pressure or depression? Innovation and science are helping to answer those questions. Smart sex tech is showing researchers the importance of erectile fitness, performance, and orgasms. New wearables can help almost all men have better sexual health and achieve the lifetime of lovemaking that they desire. With the wearables that are coming on the market, men can get actionable data about their erections that can lead to better overall health and an improved quality of life.

Some of those tools are here, and more are on the way. At the moment, wearable tools such as the IN2 and MyHixel can help with PE, and the Phoenix provides home shock wave therapy that can help improve sexual function. The FirmTech TechRing can be worn overnight _and_for sex to gather information about the firmness and duration of all erections.

Men need the equivalent of an EKG/stress test that will give them, in the privacy of their own home, the vital signs of their most important organ. We have smartwatches and smart rings that provide men with health data, but the gap in the market is obvious. It is time for fitness-based devices that can provide data about sexual wellness. What do men care more about? How many steps they took yesterday or the status of their penis? The answer is obvious. More than 34 percent of men in the USA own a wearable. With personal erection data, men can achieve the 21st century goal of better sex performance and improved sexual health.

Even if men don’t struggle with ED, they should still know their baseline erectile fitness score so they can track it over their lifetime and react to changes. If a man does have a problem, they can use data to potentially stop it or even reverse it.

What data points are we talking about that are so significant, life changing, or even potentially lifesaving? Worn overnight, an erection ring, such as FirmTech’s TechRing, can count the number, firmness, and duration of nocturnal erections. A healthy man has three to five erections per night. This number is a leading indicator of a man’s cardiovascular and diabetic health. “Leading” means that before a man has a heart attack, a stroke, or organ damage from diabetes, it is likely that the number of nocturnal erections will go down.

Men can now wear the smart TechRing overnight to assess and track health and give them a heads-up on changes in their bodies. This erection ring can track the firmness of erections with a 1.0 to 10.0 score and count the duration of all erections. It can also provide an overall Erectile Fitness Score based on important data points that will help men and their healthcare providers track their sexual health and even gamify their sexual performance.

Let’s get erection rings out of the closet and into the mainstream. Too many straight men are unfamiliar with erection rings. At this time, heterosexual men do not regularly use them, as opposed to 51 percent of gay and bi-sexual men. Straight guys commonly say, “I don’t need an erection ring.” We must educate all men that erection rings can give them better performance and orgasms. It’s not a question of need or pride, but rather one of want.

For the best sex and happiest relationships, know your data. Put a ring on it!
